Murphy – Altschuler apartment

Amsterdam – The Netherlands

This two-story apartment features a spacious garden at the rear and a view of the city’s beautiful Vondel Park from the first floor.

On the ground floor, a long corridor extends from one end of the apartment to the other, interconnecting the separate areas. The centrally placed staircase makes efficient use of the limited space, allowing for easy access to the upper level.

The interior encompasses fifteen different spaces, with all elements and furnishings carefully planned and designed.

A rigidly geometric floor pattern, made of untreated grey Brazilian slate on the ground level and dark wooden floor paneling on the first floor, is used to emphasize the seemingly endless, internal labyrinth of space.
